Fucking begging people to unlearn the (usually racially based) cishet propaganda that having multiple partners is inherently abusive and should be illegal.Yes there are situations where these relationships are not consensual or where someone is pressured into letting their partner be with other people when they're not comfortable with it, but calling for polygamy to remain illegal doesn't actually stop that from happening and plural relationships and marriages are not actually a force of evil.

I feel like it's also worth pointing out that the reason it's illegal in a lot of the US isn't because of any abuse but because they couldn't prosecute Mormons just for being Mormon so they had to make up something else to get them for

I do believe that people need to pick which issues they focus on and that we shouldn't be expecting people to care about everything all the time. The problem arises when everyone picks the same thing to care about and other issues are left to get worse

@comrade_lecter it's weird how hardcore they are on that because like. The science is against it. There are numerous studies on non-disordered plurality and the diagnostic criteria for DID and OSDD have nothing to do with trauma. The only time it's mentioned is that they're commonly found together.
