@Sir_Boops Yeah, you might find some Nissan Leafs out here but that's it, yet, really. The next 5-10 years should see the current crop of new EVs start to trickle (ha) back into dealers.

@flussence I wonder if there's any licensing stuff stopping people from just patching/forking Chromium to get around this. Obviously it's not 'official', but still.(or yeah, just switch to Firefox or anything else)

@Sir_Boops I found out that Hover's DNS doesn't do the like... > 255 character TXT entry, nor is it smart enough to merge multiple entries together for DKIM, so it's a no-go unless I change DNS providers here. ;(

@Sir_Boops I could. I *do*, for internal-only stuff. But that's yet another thing to add to my plate that I'm not ready for yet. :p

@Sir_Boops No joke, Bean made some vegan savoury pastry things for her family for Xmas, as an appy on the table, and her aunt (she's awesome and we love her) complained about how spicy they were, asking what we put in it.She's all, "uhh, some...black pepper I guess?"Danish family's usual 'spices' are butter and sugar. ;p

How to be Canadian, with Kithop(or: a life tip everyone can use in social situations)* Always thank someone sincerely (yes, smiles and all, if you can!) when they're performing a job or service for you. Even if they seem grumpy or gruff - you don't know how bad of a day they've been having, and maybe a customer or client being nice and cheerful will help turn it around for them. If you ever work or know someone who works retail or fast food, this is huge.🇨🇦

@clarjon1 @debugninja That last one is pretty much it. If I fire up Steam, 90%+ of the time it's on Linux, because Valve's done amazing work for the platform, including helping out Wine with their 'Proton' stuff, Vulkan + GPU driver support with AMD and Intel, etc. That's a lot of goodwill people outside of that bubble don't see.Unreal Engine runs fine on Linux, but that's about it from Epic. :/

@clarjon1 @debugninja Ah, right. I didn't know about that (not a Rocket League player but I've heard good things). Not to mention, doesn't Valve/HTC's VR stuff work under Linux, too? Or is it still just 'planned' (which is a lot more than I can say for Oculus; I have a DK2 that *did* support Linux. At one point. Until they abandoned it.)

@msh @djsundog Maybe not perfectly equivalent, but there's a place in Metro Vancouver my dad likes to visit called RP Electronics that has all sorts of goodies: https://www.rpelectronics.com/Common/System/AboutUs.aspx

@msh @djsundog I think with online shopping + shipping, the competition aspect might be an issue, but I wonder about models like IGA, or co-ops, etc. Is there big enough markets, regionally? What level of cooperation would work?

@Sir_Boops If you're going to go back to Arch but are also tempted by Gentoo and OpenRC (because let's face it, why would you want systemd if you don't have to), may I suggest...:artix: #Artix? https://artixlinux.org/Basically my current distro of choice on most of my machines (save for #FreeBSD on my server). You get to choose your init system and packages with init scripts are split where said init scripts come in different packages to match.
