@ngaylinn broadly speaking i feel like there are two major kinds of 'ai' users (using the bubble era definition of ai); people who know it's bad and feel some level of personal guilt in that, and 'ai believer' types who really need it to become the inevitability that it is in the stories so their dependence on it will be justified. i know this isn't 100% coverage and there's the occasional self-identified power user who somehow doesn't seem indebted to them but seems to manage to make use of them (still not something i'm there for, but whatever) but that really feels like the two main types

@ngaylinn and yeah, it's a little weird seeing ai believer types be *that* forthright about needing it to be that inevitable. maybe they're in a denial loop about acknowledging whether they have lost something to relying on it. i'm not going to pretend to be a psychologist, but i have to imagine there must be some reason these types see it as so important to evangelize something that they will say is "just another tool" in the next breath

anyway tomorrow starts physics & this class is fluids and a lot of e&m so im kinda jazzed abt it? all of my classes at this school have been like. cs stuff i already know (ok the programming languages class taught me some things but it was also entirely hands-off) + semester long math slogs + a few grindy gen eds. i had one interesting history class. so physics is the only subject that's like. hot dog im learning something new that is actually interesting & perceptibly useful
