@EgyptianAphorist @bookstodon I like this. It reminds me of something Anne Lamott said, about it being impossible to receive grace if your hands are full. It is so hard to let go of the things we think are so important, but that is the pathway to a more open, less burdened, opportunity to transcend.

@Alice so yikes! Reminds me of when my stepmother had a meltdown about my not having packed a dress when it was our Dad's turn to have us at Thanksgiving. I had comfy clothes for a holiday weekend. I had no idea that they planned to go out to eat on Thanksgiving. Plus, I was a kid! I got to wear my own clothes, Thank God, but I will never forget how she made me feel, and how my brother's clothes were seen as perfectly fine.

@talia_christine I keep hearing arguments against pre-trial confinement regarding the cost of secret service, but they can put him in extra protected prisoner isolation, can't they? They just keep giving him bail. These charges would not grant any of us bail.

I want to hear any Good News you'd like to share, no matter how small. I'll go first: finally heard from my friends in Maui. They are both safe, though Mark's office burned down. I'm grateful that they are alive, unharmed, and that their condo is safe from the fires so far.
