getting an IM from a friend telling me to check social media because they sent me a meme would be so much cooler if instead I would get paged on a mesh network by my friend telling me to call them ASAP. I head to the nearest video phone booth (I.e. blade runner 1984). They show me the meme. Afterwards I skate home on my hoverboard listening to AI Michael Jackson's 20th rendition of "Beat It (feat. AI Frank Sinatra)" on my Walkman that uses high density minidisks.

@nicemicro I like that idea. Do you get Bluetooth phones that connect to your smartphone? I'm sure you could also modify and old phone and a cheap Bluetooth earpiece.

@nicemicro I have seen handsets that plug into the headphone jack and allow you to take a call with them but they dont ring

@cel I havent done this in ages. But desmos let's you play around with stuff like this easily and has a few examples of parametric equations to get started.

@floppy @theruran @niconiconi I really appreciate stuff like this. Even if someone didn't take the time to articulate why they liked something.just the fact that they liked it enough to try and contact me leaves me with warm fuzzies.Same story when I get an email about a bandcamp purchase. I mostly just put it up there for myself and I do very little if any marketing so getting a purchase makes me feel like my stuff really resonated with someone.

I kind of wish that my #engineering course had a #design module. But not an "engineering design" module that deals with systems and stuff. Just a module going over how to come up with ergonomic and aesthetically pleasing things and how to make things a joy to use.So much of engineering stuff is straight up ugly or uncomfortable to use. I'm not really talking about products aimed at consumers those usually are ok but internal tools and software and ides for hardware are seriously obtuse.

Reading up about #meshtastic and #LoRaWAN and I just find the idea of mesh networks really cool (r.i.p pagers) I just wonder; if they built these transceivers into every smartphone, would we even need cell companies? Surely there are enough devices that you would have near global coverage by treating each device as a node? Not sure how it would work for voice and internet, but I think its cool that there are systems that don't need to rely on cell companies' infrastructure.#meshnetworks

Some #cyberdeck inspirations I really like the look of the super wide aspect ratio tiny screens and the 40% keyboard attached.If I ever build a cyber deck I would make sure it has an #SDR a rotary encoder and a MIDI port
