@freemo My problem is with ham==pork. While *I* don't have a problem with pork a large fraction of the people on this planet do. If people found popcorn offensive, then that would be a bad idea, too.

@freemo I suspect that even some non-observant Jews who love their bacon cheeseburgers maybe don't eat them on Rosh Hashanah and might prefer a pun on the meaning of "amateur" and not on "ham".You asked for opinions, I gave mine.

@stefano You reminded me to check my idle account: My Twitter (not X) app on Android still seems to work. Man, an awful lot of ads and other cruft on the screen that aren't people I follow. And sad to see good people I do follow still posting there.

@hpux735 There must be lots of people who know a lot more about the blind aspect of this than do I, but I know something about the programming side and one thing that comes to mind is emacs. It has devotees who use it for *everything*, and it is very useable in a purely text UI. (To the extent it is usable, there is a learning curve.)

@hpux735 And there is something called emacspeak, and so might be a basis for screenreading for blind programmers.

@stux I wish I'd remember to look more carefully so I don't accidentally click on damn video links.

@frameworkcomputer If I take the SIM from my US T-Mobile phone, and put it in here, will my unlimited data plan (for the phone, but not for tethering) work? Will it look like my phone and be part of the unlimited data?

@k6kwi 100% proprietary modulation "standard", #HamRadio should use open protocols. I'm surprised the FCC allows it.

@benjaminwittes I'm usually on the wrong coast, today, merely the wrong part of the coast.

@itnewsbot I read a somewhat depressing article last night that sounded like an obituary for Intel. And through I don't trust Arm to largely own the global CPU market…at least there is nothing stopping Framework creating an Arm mainboard, with the other parts mostly still working. RAM? Always iffy. Wifi? Might depend on the adapter. But the rest should all be good to go.#FrameworkLaptop

@stux Not *as* good, but…Where I live the limit is 40 km/h (unless posted otherwise). A neighboring town (you might have heard of it, Boston, Massachusetts) is the same. A different neighboring town (Cambridge) is 32.This is in the U.S. of A., too. Odd, I know. We were such innovators in automobiles.

@clive Amazing how often the first ten search results are worthless along the lines of "Best 10 specific widget 2023".

@penguin42 @BrucePerens_K6BP Looks to me like the bolts hold the door in against the stop fittings, as the pressurization pushes the other direction.

@stux Uploading. Seems like a continuous stream of spying on someone. But just be specific, how could LG afford a data connection to handle every machine doing that. Or a bug. Because software isn't designed, documented, nor tested anymore.
