@r000t Guess what happened to Telegram in Russia when the government tried to ban it? :)

@Ste1lar try ubuntu (pick any flavor you like, there are good looking ones). Or mint. Also opensuse/fedora but it's more for pros. Debian is not something entry level. And please don't try gentoo or arch now, it will scare you away from linux completely. Maybe later, after some time... but not now :)

@tuxcrafting if it crashes in malloc then probably some code corrupts the memory arena

@sir @stsquad @biosmarcel goroutines are pretty easy to use as long as you're using channels only to synchronize them

@sir @stsquad @biosmarcel Golang expects programmers to embrace CSP https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communicating_sequential_processes . There's a whole theory behind this thing: http://usingcsp.com/cspbook.pdfNot exactly magic, but yes, there is a lot of non-obvious things happening under the hood to make it work.

@SiberiaBreadFactory @jfpkdsnm

@sir what's wrong with openssh? Honestly I think it's an awesome tool, with no alternatives known (to me).

@sir do you mean it would be better to split it into encrypted tunneling tool and a set of utilities for remote shell, file transfer, port forwarding, SOCKS and so on - all over the same secure channel?

@papush the nerdy part of me says it can't be Ringworld, because (a) the sunlight falls at an angle, so the sun is not at the center of the ring, and (b) there are no black squares casting shadows, so people there would be living in an endless day, which could get pretty uncomfortable over time :-)

@quad it takes Dell 10Gbps optical fiber switch 14 minutes to download 1 Mb worth of logs, so yes, that's kinda normal

@tennoseremel @drq have you heard about Lutris? It integrates with GOG and provides UI for downloading, installing and launching. You still have to go to gog.com for purchasing though.

@aetios @radonhawk Apparently, he just confused Mars and Moon. Forgivable for an amateur, but not for an astrophysics professor
