@Canageek a "Not Now" link that minimizes the popup so you can interact with the page without logging in.I mean, it was annoying enough before, now it's even worse

@uranther One of the issues I think that leftists have with cryptocurrency is actually adjacent to the tech itself.Often, the communities surrounding these currencies are filled with libertarians and ancaps, and engaging with the technologies and markets means engaging with people who believe really stupid shit and spout it at every opportunity.

@uranther Well, it makes the whole topic look unappealing, when you go near anything cryptocurrency-related and there's a bunch of righties jerking each other off. Maybe it's not the best position, but it's certainly an understandable one.I'm trying to think of solutions here... Either an altcoin that leftists could use for trading amongst ourselves? Or maybe just some grassroots work creating a left-friendly BTC (due to adoption/usability) community that doesn't suffer AnCap bullshit.

@uranther Just to clarify, I'm not calling the technology bullshit. Just the communities that have sprung up around it, thus far.Community building is certainly work, and you're right that it doesn't just happen. But if you want people to be interested in something they're not already interested in, it's got to be done.Additionally, scolding people who don't see the benefits of cryptocurrency does nothing to educate or persuade them.

@rach @mirzaba I find prequelmemes to be the best of the bunch, precisely because the source material is so ridiculous

Someone on my Twitter is like, REALLY excited for Anthem. And I'm just like... I don't understand how anyone could get to more than "cautiously optimistic, maybe" about an EA game before it's launched and the reviews are out

Like, if Anthem turns out to be ACTUALLY good, I will be happy for BioWare (who I am sure is actually trying) and will probably buy it. But the chances of things going sideways is just too high.

Does anyone know of a "stay focused" app or extension that doesn't allow you to just, y'know... Turn it off?"Protect with Password" yeah that's great and all but my actually knowing the password is a fatal flaw.
