I was recently linked to a post where someone is trying to claim that I doxed a trans girl to her Christian parents over a proposed IRCv3 specification. To be clear, I've never doxed anyone and I would not ever out anyone to their parents, and find such tactics despicable.

Maybe feld should hire better opposition researchers, because right now they are dropping fake news. Maybe people wouldn't want to fork Pleroma if MFC and feld weren't so focused on growth that they would collaborate with anyone promising to get them that growth.

My departure from IRCv3 was incredibly boring, and happened a few years after IRCv3 was spun out from Atheme.Yes, there were some contentious arguments involved in the spinoff but those mostly involved membership eligibility (ZNC and InspIRCd wanted fully open membership where anyone could contribute specs, Atheme wanted to retain the invited expert process), and nobody was doxed or outed to parents over that, to my knowledge. I went on to contribute key components of the IRCv3.2 standard after it was spun out from Atheme.The reality is that after you spend 15 years doing something, you get bored of it, which is why I did not participate in the IRCv3.3 process - by the time that got underway, Slack was eating IRC for breakfast and I had a job working 80+ hours a week for an AdTech company. I just didn't have the time.By the time I had time to hack on something again, ActivityPub was taking off, so I focused on that instead, as it was more interesting.I have a somewhat large opposition to doing things I've already done. It feels like a step back to me, not a step forward. And so that's why I have not returned to IRC development, not because of this fake news doxing crap.

@brother I haven't ever doxed anyone or outed anyone out to their parents. I find the entire concept sickening and despicable. Nor do I read other people's mail. And finally, I am the person who recommended to Moodle to hire Karen in the first place.My participation in IRCv3 dwindled at the same time as my participation in IRC development as a whole: at one point I was being paid to work on IRC for a streaming startup which got bought by IBM. That job ended because the company went broke (leading to being bought by IBM), and myself getting a new job where I simply did not have the time to do any work on IRC anymore. I still talk to IRCv3 contributors from time to time, which I don't think I would be doing if I doxed someone and outed them to their christian parents as you describe here. That seems like a lot of effort wasted on bullshit that does not advance IRC or anything I would have been pursuing at the time. We may disagree on many things and not get along because of your "charisma" but you're smarter than that.Finally, I have approximately zero interest in MoodleNet other than a security and GDPR audit they requested I do as part of their legal compliance process, which began before Karen was employed by Moodle. I don't see MoodleNet as a viable alternative to Pleroma due to its radical departure from what Pleroma backend provides, they are quite different products.
