@tek Yeah! I know last year there was a HT / FRZ meetup at the Flamingo bar which I went to. If there's one again this year I should hopefully make it as well! Of course the sooner something gets posted, the more easy I can move my schedule around to attend it.

@tek @redlilrascal Some instances will lean into outright defederating. But the biggest instance lead and moderated by members of the queer community I'm aware of, tech.lgbt, opted to just limit. So if BBC opts to publish more anti-trans nonsense it won't come up in my feed on my account there unless I opt to follow BBC accounts, and those who want to can still debunk the empire. It's nice that the fediverse allows for this kind of flexibility that works for all users of an instance

Off to @defcon to find my Peppercon peeps!First time joining the #HardHatBrigade! Was so easy since the #DCDarknet badge this year makes for a small hardware-y thing to easily strap on a hard hat. Also mesh badges are cool! Managed to squeeze off a shard print of my own design at the last minute for the official #defcon31 badge too!And if you love using community mesh networks to get around terrible ISP monopolies, check out @mesh and look into making one for your own community!#defcon
