@tek @AsylumDEG I see an issue in glide with loading images via HTTPS with older android versions (i'm running a 4 year old phone that is out of support) I wonder if the root cert just isn't trusted on some older frameworks.

@tek I stick with nice functional streaming stuff with complete immutability for as long as I can. Then as soon as its faster for me to think of, everything becomes mutable and its loops everywhere!

@tek 5-2 for me was weird. I realized instantly how an optimized solution would work and went ahead an built a big monolithic implementation. It always converged to zero, some off by one issue I'm sure, but I spent an hour trying to fix it.I ended up starting over and breaking everything into two steps. Cut way down on the code and produced the correct answer on my first run. Both implementations were trying to do the same thing. Should have been done in 20 min! took over two hours!

I've completed "Camel Cards" - Day 7 - Advent of Code 2023 #AdventOfCode https://adventofcode.com/2023/day/7This went very smoothly! I was expecting to have huge problems but I was done fairly quickly.Part 2 scared me for a second, but the difference in scoring alg. is shockingly small between the two parts.

But fought with how to apply moves. Ended up having to index costs by both direction and position, still not entirely sure why, but it worked

@tek Yeah, I noticed I was getting a different answer depending on which way I sorted my priority que. So I figured it was a direction thing. Of course the original version only gave me the correct answer if I had the queue sorted wrong and the full data set wouldn't finish.

I've completed "Lavaduct Lagoon" - Day 18 - Advent of Code 2023 #AdventOfCode https://adventofcode.com/2023/day/18For part 1 I built something similar to what I had on day 10. I was pretty sure that was all getting thrown away for part 2 and I was correct!I was completely stumped for part two. Started googling for how to find the area of arbitrary polygons. Stumbled across a few terms I remember seeing on reddit on day 10 and tada! I have learned some new math and have a clean easy solution!

Today was either easy or impossible depending on if you know the trick, or can find the trick. You can kind of say that about yesterday as well, but I did learn Dijkstra in school. Today's math was completely new to me and was a lot of fun to learn. But first there were a couple hours of panic.
