It's official, I am a card-carrying Fork and Scissor Lift certified employee. That means I can use both at once, right?

@elfin There are specially designed UPS tools for LEO to do a live extraction of your PC while it's running to maintain memory state until the PC can be analyzed in a lab environment.Basically, you connect a UPS to the same circuit / phase the PC is connected, then use a suicide cord to connect to the power strip or outlet where the PC is, then cut the PC away from the wall, outlet included.https://cdsg.com/products/hotplug-field-kitthere are even commercial versions of the male-male power cord that cost $600+ because LEO.

@ai6yr A lot of people tend to forget that infrastructure requires power too. You hay have 100Kwh of battery storage, but the cable distribution node down the street has a cold deep cycle battery that only lasts 45minutes.As a TIL:Some of these equipment boxes have some form of generator inlet. This won't always work, since they depend on the repeater upstream to have power as well, but if you are close to the head-end, chances are you might be able to hack some power and get internet back.... at the cost of a generator.

User just discovered how awful node.js is node.js thing kept failing saying endpoint was unreachable. Turns out, because endpoint had a AAAA record, node.js tried that first. But the user only has a fe80 link local address. so... Network unreachable... node.js thing is NOT attempting IPv4 at all where a route exists locally. (default)I can't even."disable ipv6"
