       @pluralistic The issue I have with the current kvetching about our tech overlords is that so much rancor is aimed at the tech part and not so much at the overlord part.Our society adores wealth and those who have it. Sociopathic behavior is taught, encouraged, and rewarded, as long as it involves making money. Is it all that surprising that the best at making money in America are the worst at being people?These overlords are just the latest in celebrating a great American tradition.

       @mia @pluralistic That’s a powerful point. I like the description “atmosphere of constant precariousness.” It captures the feeling very well.We are pushed into a relentless state of emotional emergency.
