What is so profitable in demonizing women's tears, that misogynistic proverbs from extremely patriarchal and violent societies would do so, and this new "white women's tears" debacle to justify further demonizing women? We talked about proverbs in my Russian class, and that was a recurrent theme as well. Women are not allowed to feel emotion, not allowed to feel pain for themselves. Don't cry, don't speak out.

@HebrideanHecate Lots of coastal towns here too suffer from this, I personally just hate the idea of "second homes".... How about you just have one house, and live where you'd like to live, and make that home your home? It's certainly not because they can't afford it. It ruins towns, having these "seasonal residents," it drains all life and vigor from the community really, and I'd be pissed if every time the weather gets nice, droves of tourists/people suddenly show up and clog up the town. I would not make it in a tourist hub lol

@pettywoman @HebrideanHecate I don't usually like to watch things or take advice from men 😂 but this video did change the way that I cooked mushrooms: https://youtu.be/ktrwSUhWDDE for the better. Cooking them incredibly deeply, and really bringing out the meaty flavor as well as preventing that "slimy" feeling. Most people really don't cook mushrooms deep enough I think, I absolutely love them like this

I'll try or at least write some kind of outline or brainstorm (just because its the week before finals week so i've got essays and speeches i have to finish) but i do want to starting writing actual pieces on these topics rather than sitting in my informal rage.. @HebrideanHecate @MandyJane @macha Ah, that's true. It's the same where I live, the rivers are never below "flippin cold," they're okay to swim in but NOT jump in because you'll go into shock. I think I didn't realize it said "jump" and for some reason thought he said people couldn't swim in them. My Granny just sent me a video of my niece (5 yrs old) swimming/dipping into a local river so I was like, nothin wrong with this haha. But it's true, I think it's just dangerous to jump into water anyways. I always ending up doing a bellyflop no matter how hard I try 😔

AND I should have pushed back that anything in that nature could ever be a "choice" when it is one that is pushed subconsciously and subtley onto women even when it isn't explicitly overt... And that no one can ever "consent" to exploitation and abuse... It's literally so common sense I'm glad i got to speak with women in other countries because when i mentioned the same point there was always a "well... duh?" response that prostitution is a harmful practice against women but of course at the end the gay dude comes up and is like "WELL ACKTUALLY-"

There is no hope for change when even feminist anymore cannot imagine CHANGING for the sake of change- when even the mere presence of a THOUGHT of opposition is enough to keep us in line and continuing to do things as they've always been done, to not step out of line for fear of our own backs... What do we expect to change when we are not willing TO CHANGE to see it come forth? Who do we expect to do it for us? Do we continue to wait for a time in which we are given the "OK" by society to be free...??? I am so sick of continuing to face the endless excuses and justifications we are willing to tell ourselves, all to keep our business running "as usual" in how we function ourselves. Sick of the discussions which always skew towards "well I LIKE to (shave/wear makeup/other personal actions of cultural subordination we are told to make)" and the ever harder and harder brickwall we face when we recommend NOT performing cultural rituals of female subordination- yes, even if you face opposition.... It's getting harder and harder to speak to other women about this, I feel, at least from the few years I've been involved with feminist spaces.. Or maybe I'm just growing sicker of it. The same old excuses and lies we tell ourselves to keep ourselves in line, yet we still have the gall to want change. Don't know where people think change comes from, if not the actions we make to bring it about...Society will NEVER give you the "OK" to change, to embrace your humanity and your nature... EVER. You CANNOT WAIT for it, you cannot wait for a "time without opposition" because there will always be opposition when we want to be free and liberated... You HAVE to bring it about yourself and face the opposition and not wait for some magical process where we don't have to change anything and yet liberation falls in our lap... Will never happen. Ok will now go get a drink of water and try to get some hours of rest from this midnight rant 😂
