       The anti trans nonsense that is being used to radicalise folks against us has some very powerful extreme right players involved. It can feel overwhelming. We have to remember that those who respect and care about us are the majority however and actually knowing a trans person is often like a  vaccine against this radicalisation. That’s why I am choosing to be more public now so that folks who know me realise that they know and in many cases care about a trans person. #trans #lgbti

       The Cambridge dictionary updated it's definition of woman (you know - the one we've seen on GC T-shirts for a while now) to include "an individual who lives and identifies as a female" . It made me so happy to see my reality reflected on the page like that. #trans #lgbt

       I just heard an editor from the very right wing Torygraph trying to get us ready for the “need” to discuss privatisation of the NHS by degrees as “it’s the only way to make it fit for purpose for the 21st century”. Subtext here - it’s the only way we can make your health a cash cow for our ideological mates. This must be resisted and the NHS must be fixed. Healthcare must be seen as a human right… #nhs

       Hi Cisgender folks! The war against #trans people is becoming really ugly. 200 bills passed in the U.S. this year alone, the U.K. in constitutional crisis over the Scottish government daring to pass a supportive bill. The thing missing - Trans voices. If you find yourself reading something online or in the media about trans people that gives you pause  please talk to a trans person about it. There’s thousands of us here and we’re really nice! #lgbt

       We must never forget who Brianna Ghey was. A trans girl whose life was taken from her. Already I see attempts to remove her identity, from the BBC failing to mention that she was trans to the denying of her feminine identity by the usual suspects. She was all of these things  and more - a daughter to her parents, and a sibling to trans people. We all feel her loss and mourn her.

       You will have heard a lot of anti-#trans people talking about “biological sex” lately. What they are describing is a bio-essentialist, reductionist view of biological sex (there are five components of biological sex, none of which are strictly binary- take it from someone with a Ph.D. in biology). Whenever throughout history people have used bio-essentialist arguments it has nearly always been to justify oppression. Now is no different.

       @wjmaggos Most of the ones I’ve come across (and I’ve come across a hell of a lot) use this as a conversation ender rather than being genuinely wanting to engage. There is a portion who just don’t get it but there are an equal number who are willingly using this to justify very transphobic potions. That it’s a flawed understanding also hasn’t prevented politicians using it as the basis for legislation curtailing our rights.

       I’ll say this plainly for anyone that needs to hear it. What’s happening in the US now is a Human Rights crisis. What’s being called for at CPAC is genocide. These people are inseparable due to shared ideology, goals and funding from the GC/TERF movement in the U.K. This is no longer “valid concerns” or “women’s rights” or any other BS they’ve made up to cloak their goal - this is a fascist movement with genocidal intent.
