@ActionRetroThe same level of frustration seems to be happening for me with a GNOME Box of Haiku R1 Beta 4, manually updated from Beta 3 (Beta 4 ISO not available yet, but following the B2->B3 update instructions works for B3->B4… for a reboot or two). The more things change…

@ActionRetro At least on a PBG3 250MHz, if memory from more than two decades ago serves, kernel 2.4.x didn't play nice. I think I had better luck with 2.6.x. YMM(obvs)V.

@ActionRetro It's like living in the (90's) future! Would that my old SE/30* had color.*You've heard the anecdote that all the 68030 models, following in the footsteps of the 68000 & 68020 models, were getting "x" appended to their name (like the IIcx, for example). They put the kibosh on that, before my late high school/college computer got called the "SEx." 😆

@NanoRaptor I feel like I fleetingly saw one of these 35~ish years ago in a friend’s house (at least, it was referred to as a “IIgs,” but was way more completely decked out than any I had ever seen). I wanted to stay and gaze at its color GUI glory, but my friend had run off somewhere else in the house. To that computer: I hope you didn’t die too bad a blasted-cap or leaked-battery death, wherever (and in whatever pieces) you are!

@lowqualityfacts I struggle to comprehend all these buttons. Now, where did that young man who was helping me, go? He said he was taking my wallet to be relaminated.
