@kev after reading this you might be better off with a laptop + dock. Seems like purchasing two machines specifically for the tasks you need it for is overkill. But that also ignores the fun of messing with hardware and building a new computer (at least that’s a part I really enjoy).I noticed you have an iPad on your desk too. Have you considered using that for the lightweight tasks you use a laptop for?

@kev I’ve come to very similar conclusions myself. Last year I purchased an iPad Pro over a new MacBook Pro and love it (I use a Linux desktop for personal coding, company owned MacBook Pro for work).I wish the watch could be standalone instead of paired with the phone. iPad + Watch would be awesome.

@kev That's nice! I recently ran across PrismJS and wanted to start using it on my own sites.I was using GitHub gist embeds before buuuuut it doesn't keep the content local. Not a wise choice on my part. Going to be migrating the content back for sure.

@kev I’m still waiting for the nice weather to come my way. It’s getting warmer here (I’m in New York) but the roads are still dirty. I usually wait until a few heavy rainstorms clear the roads.

@kev I've honestly felt the same where even taking time off or traveling didn't help much. For me I think it's just what's going on day-to-day in life through everything these past two years. You just can't get away from it though blocking social/news helped a ton.

@kev In CoBlocks (https://wordpress.org/plugins/coblocks/) we have an "accordion" block that does what you need but it's not available as a singular block.We are working on trimming down the blocks (converting some into core blocks) but the accordion doesn't have a core alternative right now. So it'll be sticking around for a bit.

@selea @draxil Are you certain it’s an ip-block on the other email providers and not an outbound block at your VPS? I know Linode has a block in place so you have to contact them if you’d like to host a mail server. The block is default on new accounts. I wouldn’t be surprised if other VPS hosts have a similar practice.

Got up and running with Penpot (@penpot) quickly with the provided docker-compose configuration.I'm impressed so far compared to Figma. One missing feature I've really enjoyed in Figma is auto-layout settings, which looks to be in the backlog (https://github.com/penpot/penpot/issues/822).What really really sucks about Figma is they made it so easy to migrate from Sketch back in the day but it's impossible to get projects OUT of it.

First and foremost I don't care for any party. But it's hard to ignore the stark difference in the campaign strategy between Democrats and Republicans. I've gotten so many mailers this past month for the midterms.Republican and Conservative candidates: "Here's who I am, what I've accomplished, what I would like to do, etc"Democrat candidates: "I'm not that other person who's a Trump supporting, extremist, insurrectionist, and is against this one issue I'm for!"It's dumb.

I’ve been itching to build new blocks for #WordPress and some time ago there was a conversation in the Post Status about the block editor not being ready to do what advanced form builders can do. I have been churning on that challenge for a bit and have solved some of the problems.I’ll be releasing a plugin with basic form building capabilities soon and will continue building it in the open. I would like to find a way to build a business around it while keeping the entire codebase #opensource.

I've been using #Authentik for centralizing user accounts in my #homelab but I've learned about some lighter weight options like #LLDAP and #Authelia that I'm trying out. Also considering #NetBird as an self-hosted alternative to #Tailscale.Now I just need to figure out how to put them all together🤔
