@anderspuck I think your analysis makes perfect sense, but I’m not sure I understand why it’s super convenient for NATO? Is it because verifiable evidence that Russia did it would force us to react with measures that we’d rather avoid like article 5? I guess it’s not an attack on any one nation in NATO so we wouldn’t *have* to retaliate?

@aphandersen @anderspuck Tja, man er gået fra samlet 16 ugers øremærket barsel til samlet 22 uger. Det kan man godt kalde “mindre frihed” men man kunne også argumentere for at en masse kvinder nu har mere frihed til at tage mindre barsel og mænd frihed til at tage mere, uden den sociale fordømmelse det i begge tilfælde kunne medføre under de gamle regler.

@anderspuck @aphandersen Social fordømmelse er måske skarpt formuleret men mange mænd syntes, at det var akavet overfor chef og kollegaer at bede om lang barsel, og alle undersøgelser har da også vist, at mænd typisk ønskede at tage mere barsel end de endte med. For kvinder kender jeg ikke til undersøgelser, men der er mange beretninger både fra kvinder der har oplevet fordømmelse for at tage kort barsel og kvinder der har undladt at gøre det af frygt for samme

@randahl I’m not sure that I follow the narrative that a Russian victory in Ukraine will be an “existential crisis” for Europe and NATO. If this war has shown us anything it is that Russia is much less of a military threat than probably expected. If they tried to invade a NATO country, isn’t it pretty clear that they would be annihilated? I get that they are trying to change the world order but would they really seek out a direct confrontation with the US?

@randahl You’re probably right and there are many reasons to support Ukraine in defending against the invasion. Nonetheless I have a hard time seeing the next step being a military confrontation between Russia and NATO as is often suggested.

@anderspuck @randahl I basically have no idea what I’m talking about, so of course I trust your judgment, but I am surprised that you think article 5 would come into question. I mean Ukraine is not a member so why is article 5 even relevant? I understand that Ukraine can be viewed as a proxy for NATO and that it would be a colossal moral victory for Russia if they were to prevail, and I also understand the threat against other non-NATO countries, but still…

Hvor bliver jeg rasende over denne konstante inddragen af folks etniske og religiøse baggrund. Der er nogle få fjolser der synes at Hamas er nogle fede fyre, og så er der 1000-vis af danskere med baggrund i og udenfor Danmark der tillader sig at være uenige med regeringens linje. @smlx4 one of the worst consequences of generative AI is that it made me extremely sceptical about anything I see online. This is beautiful and I’d love for it to be real but I have a hard time believing that it is.
