Well, I spent all day today doing absolutely nothing. I haven't done this in quite while. I mean, usually I write for a while, or do some chores, or the laundry, or something. Today, nada. Zip. Zilch. It felt wonderful.#Today

Good morning! It's a cold, cloudy day, but no precipitation is in the forecast, so I'm fine with that. PT for my back today, then home to do laundry.I'm getting no writing done and I need to find a way to correct that. Not today. I'm just too tired. Once the daily PT settles into a routine, I should be able to do at least some writing. If you're in the part of the world having cold and snow, stay warm! And have a good one, my friends.#Today

Good morning!Another cold, cloudy morning. I have errands that I need to run, but I'm not going to do them. I'm a homebody, and I've gone out every day for the past week. Today, I'm staying home. Maybe I'll even try to write. Or maybe I'll find a movie to watch or read or just rest in the recliner and doze. Theo would like that.Whatever you do today, have a good one.#Today

Good morning! It's Friday, which means I have no physical therapy, which means I don't need to go anywhere, which means I'm staying home all day. Hurrah!I'm going to try to write, do a few chores, and just be happy to be at home.Have a good one, my friends.#Today

Good morning! It's snowing hard out there with no sign of stopping yet. There's about 4 inches on the ground, which isn't a lot by some standards, but it's more than I want to have to clear from my car. They've started plowing out there, which means I'll have to shovel the piled-up snow from behind the car to get it out. Not what I'd like to be doing on a #SofaSunday, but better today than when it's pure ice tomorrow. But not yet. I'm going to sit and sip my nice hot coffee and eat my nice hot oatmeal and wait to see if someone shovels my walks and the stairs to the parking lot before venturing out. That's what I pay the monthly fee for, but it doesn't always happen.Have a good one, my friends.#Today

Good morning! It's another cold morning and another day going to physical therapy for my foot. The foot pain is getting worse, and I don't quite see the point in continuing with the therapy except that I do need the balance exercises. So I will go.Then one quick errand on the way home if the stores are not too crowded (i.e., if I can find a parking spot), and back at home for the day.Have a good one, my friends.#Today

I posted some complaints, so here are better things that happened today.1. I put fresh clean sheets on my bed.2. I made a dinner of baked scallops and baked potato and it was very good and there's enough for tomorrow as well.3. I had a phone call from my sister.#3GoodThings #today #JoinIn

Good morning! It's another cold day. The high temperature is supposed to be 32F (0C). I need to go to the grocery store, but then I'll be staying in. I have no plans for New Year's Eve and will not stay up until midnight to see 2026 come in. After the shameful, embarrassing year the US had in 2025, I think it will be best to let the old year slip away unremarked, and let the new one take its place unheralded. I hope it will be a better year than the last one.#Today

Good morning!I woke up to a surprise New Year's Day snow squall, which coated the ground but didn't really accumulate. It was actually my second waking, as I was awakened by my upstairs neighbor Thumper stumbling in around 2 a.m. I had to laugh when I heard her, remembering some of my New Year's Eve celebrations and shenanigans back when I was young. I'm happy I don't feel the need to stay up and drink for New Year's any longer. She'll likely sleep until well past noon, which means I will have a quiet morning of writing.May you have a pleasant New Year's Day and a great new year!#Today

Good morning! It's another cold morning at 19F (-7C). I'm angry and ashamed of my country, but that's a topic for a different post.Today is brunch day, so in a little while I'll bundle up and drive to a restaurant and hope I can enjoy spending time with my friends, who will also be angry and ashamed. And then home again to try to write, if I can find a way to focus.Have the best day you can, my friends.#Today

Good morning!I went out for another walk this morning, walking just a little bit farther than I did yesterday, trying to ease my way back into the routine. It was cold: 22F (-5.5C), but I found my box of chemical toe-warmer patches and I was fine. Today will be laundry and writing and getting the recycling out of the house -- which will probably take two or three trips. I've been remiss in the very cold weather, letting it all pile up. Today we'll get up above freezing for the afternoon, and then the next few days will actually be warm, with temperatures in the 50sF. Have a good one, my friends.#Today

Good morning!Another day, another early-morning walk. Lots of Christmas decorations still up around my neighborhood. The one below made me laugh -- it's almost as tall as I am!I was grateful for the laugh. Things are so bad everywhere in the US these days that I find little to laugh at, little that gives me joy. A 5-foot inflatable dog in a Santa suit is welcome.Back to PT today, more writing, more playing with Theo.Have a good one, my friends.#Today

Good morning!Today I'm happy I don't need to go anywhere and can stay home and try to get some writing done. I've been out for my early-morning walk, am sipping coffee and eating breakfast while I scroll through the answers to today's writing hashtags. The ice on the pond has not melted except where the little creek feeds into it, even with the temperatures going up above 50F (10C). Today there were a few geese and ducks floating around in the melted bit, although I didn't get them into the photo I took.Have a good one, my friends.#Today

Good morning! At walk time this morning, it was 19F (-7C) with a wind chill temperature of 6F (-14C). I stayed home with a nice cup of coffee.I'd like to stay home all day, but it's haircut day again. How can it have been 6 weeks since last time? At least it will warm up a few degrees before I go, but our high for the day will still be only just at the freezing point. Not much else to say today. Keep on keeping on, my friends.#Today

Good morning! It's snowing again so I skipped my early-morning walk and have been sitting by my window watching the snow come down. I don't need to go anywhere or do anything today. What I plan to do is write, and roast a chicken, much of which will be frozen once it cools so I will be able to eat it next week or whenever without fearing it will go bad. And I will definitely read for a while. I'm in the middle of @nlowell.zirk.us Nathan Lowell's "The Wizard's Cat" and I would love to finish it today. It's a wonderful book.Keep on keeping on, my friends.#Today

I wrote close to 1000 words #today, put clean sheets on my bed, and cleared the snow off my car, only to have another inch or so cover it again. Tomorrow should be sunny and clear, but cold. Have a safe and peaceful night, my friends.

It warmed up to 27F (-3C), so I went out and cleared the ice and snow from my car -- it took me three tries to get the car door open because it was frozen shut. Then I drove out and put gas in the car so I can get to PT and home tomorrow without worrying or having to stop when it's even colder than today. My shoes were leaking and my gloves were wet through, so I decided I can do without the few things I wanted from the store and just came home. I'm beginning to understand why people move to Florida. #Today

Good morning! It's a cold (18F, -8C) morning with snow and ice everywhere, but the big storm is over. I am very, very grateful that the power stayed on throughout it all, and grateful that I don't need to try to go anywhere today. I'm supposed to go to PT tomorrow for the final time, but we'll see. Today I will do some cleaning and try to write again. And probably go out and shovel the walk one more time. There's not a lot of snow on it since I shoveled it three times yesterday, but it's frozen into ice. Be safe and warm, if you're in this cold in the US, and be safe and cool if you're in the southern part of the world. And keep on keeping on.#Today

Good morning! It was 4F (-15.5C) when I got up this morning, looking at a high temperature of 21F (-6C). Today I'm staying home, although I will have to venture out with the trash so it can be collected, but otherwise I'm hunkering down and staying warm. Now that I'm not going back to PT, I need to do more exercises at home. I've decided to do the ones I need to be on the floor for one day and the standing ones the next. Then there's the exercises for my foot... Ah, such an exciting life, isn't it?Have a good one, my friends.#Today
