@kyle In northern Sweden you can almost always find one error in old weaves, but no mistakes. To make a perfect weave was considered prideful.

@futurebird I often think that math must be one of the hardest subjects to teach, both because that the element of abstraction as well as that there is a lot of practice needed. I struggled with math between I was eight until I was 19. I thought it was a lot of fun at first but then got bored with repeating what felt like the same thing (I have as an adult become aware that this probably was because of then undiagnosed ADHD) and instead thought that I was just bad at math.

@futurebird Woah, thats wild! It's seldom you see that stuff is more expensive in the US than Sweden, even with the weak Krona. 12 organic eggs at the store closest to me is about 55 SEK ($5), 20 "indoor free range" eggs is about 60 SEK ($ 5.5).

@futurebird I do not shop on amazon. However.Since I live in Sweden, Amazon isn't as dominant in online shopping as (it seems at least) in the US. Their site is also terrible and you never find what you are looking for. When they launched amazon.se their machine translations were good for a laugh or two though.

@futurebird There is a Swedish saying (which probably exists in most cultures in some form) that goes "It's expensive to be poor". Even though I have never been poor, it is noticeable how much easier it is to save money when I have more money and resources.

@futurebird This post made me think of a scene I viewed while on vacation in Germany last spring. We were at the shopping mall at the train station in Potsdam. My partner were taking our little son to the toilet. I waited outside with the stroller. There was this vending machine near where I sat that sold unclaimed packages, probably all from the usual chinese suspects.
