@galdor "Telling a programmer there's already a library to do X is like telling a songwriter there's already a song about love."-- Pete Cordellhttps://dylanbeattie.net/songs/framework.html - I'm not sure if this song works for or against this argument.

@simon I'm loving your TIL format! This one made my (unpublished) list recently: http://redsymbol.net/articles/bash-exit-traps/

@galdor counterpoint: when I was first learning a new language, when I was okay-ish but needed to be challenged, I lurked on the new posts tagged with that language and tried to answer the questions. If I had the best answer, great, but I learned a lot when someone else had an improvement or alternative.I used it as a pool of exercises to solve.

The web is not dyinghttps://manuelmoreale.com/the-web-is-not-dying> The web is not dying. The web is huge. The web is ever-expanding. The fact that the web is just the same 5 big websites is a fucking lie. It’s like saying the restaurant industry is the same 5 fast food chains. It is not. It’s up to you to decide to stop visiting those 5 sites and stop ingesting their fast food content.
