@cobra2 My immediate knee-jerk reaction was "sure, they're pivoting to a post COVID-19 Outbreak market", but that's not the answer. Though they own their own chain, they can't be _this_ flexible.I can say that I currently have a ZTE phone and, for the price, it's pretty goddamned fantastic. So the pressure is on to compete.

@cobra2 So, not to go into my situation much, we'll just say that there's been non-zero cases at my Essential. The good news is that precautions are at an almost absurd degree and that, even if contracted, something like 80% of cases are minor.I fully understand your concern, but hopefully that can give you some small comfort.

OK Fediverse, I'd like some input please.Let's pretend I have a kennel with 10 dogs. Dogs are in a communal area, but each has a separate outdoor section, fences between them. I want to know if every dog returns inside at the end of the night.First idea I had was RFID chips on the collars and readers on the inside of the doors. Something small like a raspberry pi would flip a bit if a dog leaves, then flip back upon return. All doors show the original state means all dogs have returned.Downside is the doors are pretty wide and door frames are close together, so I think I'd need two for each door to ensure capture of the tag and not accidentally reading the tag of the neighboring dog. First glance looks like this might get pricey.Also I don't know what would happen if a dog sat at the very entrance for a little bit.Is there anything else I'm missing? Possibly something cheaper than RFID? I want this to be as automated as possible.

@ghostdancer On rare occasions I ask for some sort of help or input here and I may have gotten one comment once. The once fine identi.ca has become a vapid corner of the internet reduced to tryhard anime memes and astoundingly ignorant ramblings on economics and politics. It's now simply a source of disappointment and it's time to move on.
