@Raspberry_Pi 👋 My little museum. RPN is awesome! The oldest on the right was so dear back in the day, you bolted the case to your desk and locked it with a key.

Enjoying installation of #netbsd 9.3 on a Rockpro64 ARM64 device. Runs great!Don't forget to order a heatsink and fan if you're considering one yourself. Especially if you play with machdep.cpufreq settings 🙂

Pine64 RockPro64 keeps chugging away running #NetBSD 9.3. Absolutely rock solid.Handles OpenCV and other image processing duties (removing barrel distortion, ffmpeq time-lapse, etc) for a weather cam I like to run. Takes in an image every second on the M.2 storage. One modification is a relay on the #11 (SW3) power switch to make sure I can recover it if there's a power outage.Cheers to the BSDs!

That time of year to play with #retrocomputing hardware. Here's my '98 Satellite Pro running a 2010 build of #netbsd 5.1. And once again I'm tempted to try to get i386 NetBSD 10 on it. I don't have an FD or cdrom. Maybe take old HD out and image it?@SDF home page in lynx running in xterm 😊

Here my notes on booting NetBSD 10_RC1 on a '90s laptop:Upgrading from NetBSD 5.1 to 10_RC1https://www.idatum.net/upgrading-from-netbsd-51-to-10_rc1.html#netbsd #retrocomputing

Got my hands on an old Mac Mini G4 PPC and immediately installed NetBSD 10 #macppc. Good docs of course, including specific to the G4. Once you get the hang of partioning for Open Firmware 3, pretty straight forward. My first Apple product 😂#netbsd #retrocomputing

I finally got motivated to buy a CF to IDE adapter and install NetBSD 10.1-RELEASE on a nostalgic old 1998 Toshiba laptop. It runs well 🙂 Here are my notes on creating a custom kernel, release and boot image. I could not boot an install image separately with no FD, CDROM, or PXE; hence a few more steps. As usual with NetBSD, I learned a few things along the way.#netbsd #bsd #retrocomputing #sdf #i386 https://www.idatum.net/running-netbsd-101-on-a-1998-toshiba-laptop.html

@selea I ran NetBSD 10 on my #pinebookpro for a few months. Unfortunately, the hinge broke on the lid and I was unable to fix (smelled magic smoke too) 🙁 Ran well otherwise. Here are my notes:https://www.idatum.net/netbsd-10-on-a-pinebook-pro-laptop.html

@selea Oh nice, that's a good way to do it too.
