@futurebird What about classic manufacturers that actually (tend to) honor their design heritage? Think Porsche 911 or Aston Martin DB11, for example.Sure, most folks can’t afford them, and you could argue endlessly about the point of such impractical, “useless” vehicles. 😉From a design standpoint, though, I think they still look clean, reasonably simple, and definitely one-of-a-kind. (Unless you buy them in some cement gray color. That is always unforgivable.)cc: @riotnrrd

@markhurst I doubt that we'd see any meaningful response from D.C. anytime soon. What I really don't get, though, is that plenty of design conferences still invite speakers from Meta. How much more awful do Meta's leadership's actions need to become until conference organizers feel at least somewhat embarrassed for prominently featuring representatives from this company at their events?

@publicvoit Nicht verwunderlich, aber dennoch bemerkenswert. PrĂ€sentieren die Stuttgarter den (IMHO grottenhĂ€sslichen 😈) CLA aktuell als “the most intelligent and efficient vehicle in the line-up.”https://www.mbusa.com/en/future-vehicles/2026-mercedes-benz-cla-sedanUnd das trotz monströsem Riesendisplay fast ohne jegliche taktilen Bedienelementen.

@futurebird @Natasha_Jay Thank you so much for adding your perspective as a teacher to this discussion. It’s so easy to instantly support and spread messages like this stories, because they do have the right intentions. We shouldn’t, however, ignore the finer details of these exercises, particularly what they mean for those who are effectively forced to participate.
