@Nonilex Can't wait to see what they think is better. There are a lot of potential issues with all forms of electronic voting. We saw first hand the problems with punch cards. Pure digital systems (systems where the vote goes directly from the ballot machine to a server somewhere) would be risky too. Georgia actually (surprisingly, I think, given the players and their biases) chose a solid system. Digital (QR code) for speed and an actual printed ballet that can both be verified by the voter before scanning AND audited afterward. In fact, the QR code can be double checked by OCR (don't think it is, but it could be). Now, if they do choose OCR of the self-same printed ballet and just drop the QR, I, personally, think the result would be acceptable. 🤷♂️

@futurebird There's always the classic return: "Why?"

@futurebird "My code isn't working!" "Why?"I realize that's a flip response to your inquiry, but, ultimately it is what you're looking to enable your students to do, right? They should be able to say more than "it isn't working" which is uninformative. So, it isn't working .. what else can you say about what is - or isn't - happening and what hypothesis can you give as to why? And if you have a hypothesis, how can you test it?

@Nonilex Yeah, but how many had(have) the integrity to speak out? There's been several, but there's a lot more that prefer the benefits of coddling the toddler.

@Nonilex They're not looking at "Georgia" elections, though, are they? They should hoovered up the complete records of (the hated) Fulton County voters. Which could hardly be relevant in any investigation of foreign interference in anything.

@Nonilex The "evidence" justifying the search warrant and the stealing of voting records is something I very much wish to see exposed. I cannot imagine any basis for such an action, even if there were legitimate concerns about fraud.

@Nonilex Yes, should have been almost immediate. The risk to the records is too high.

@Nonilex I think the judge that signed off on the warrant should have to explain themselves.
