@maggiejk @Radical_EgoCom The best way to summarize the Democratic Party of the USA (and liberalism, honestly) is that it is a capitalist party first, but is willing to give some concessions to the working class to remain favorable during election cycles.

@Radical_EgoCom @maggiejk Yes absolutely. The Democratic Party is only useful for temporary measures in very select situations. We really need a vanguard party, some way to “control our leaders.”

@Radical_EgoCom I see this more as “a state is inevitable” rather than “necessary”, though this is mostly semantics. The power structure of the state already exists, and it is the most powerful tool in human history. It will be immediately seized and weaponized by the ruling class if it is not first taken by the proletariate in order to be safely dismantled. Much like you cannot safely abandon a nuclear reactor; you must safely dispose of it.

@Radical_EgoCom Predictably, as seen through all of history, democrats will now squander the newly sanctioned power dynamic rather than use it to correct the problem, right before handing the reigns over to full blown fascism.

@Radical_EgoCom I won’t be leaving. I would not be able to live with myself if I were to flee to another country and abandon all of my friends, and other people, who do not have the means flee with me. It is better to stay and fight.

@Radical_EgoCom Also, fascists ruin everything. Why should everyone else have to leave? They are the ones that should be forced out.

@Radical_EgoCom @blaise 100%. The democratic party is only useful as a stopgap to buy time. I still advocate everyone vote, but to not feel as though the vote alone is enough. The left needs to either ruthlessly take over the reigns of the Democratic Party or forge a new party (much harder). Ideally this would be done under a Democrat presidency to avoid facing full-blown fascistic scrutiny. Sadly, I did not come to these relatizations until the past year.

@peterkal @Radical_EgoCom My biggest concern is that any type of revolution from the people today would be largely unguided. Would we simply repeat the history of February 1917, where the revolutionists handed the power right back to the bourgeois? They at least had a very dedicated Bolshevik party that was growing influence before and up until October. The USA is a powder keg, and we really need a party that follows lock-step with the working class.

@peterkal @Radical_EgoCom My only knowledge of this comes from Trotsky’s History of the Russian Revolution. It was my understanding that workers in the textile mills and iron works started the feb revolution via strike. People upset with world war 1 and the econ then rallied and ousted the tsar, with no real leadership. The bourgeoise then took the reins with little resistance in the aftermath.Regardless, I’m just worried that it could happen in the USA, but without an October follow up.

@Radical_EgoCom @TessRants All of human history shows that force is what works. We didn’t vote away monarchy, nor did the Russian people in the 1900s. We didn’t vote away slavery, we beat the slave owners into submission. Powerful systems require powerful removals.

@grumble209 @Radical_EgoCom Ever notice that corporations will do diversity and inclusion training on race, gender, sex, etc... but mysteriously leave out class? 🤔

@Radical_EgoCom I don’t think he needed justification in the first place.
