@ekaitz_zarraga @maiki @OTheB I’ve been running https://mailinabox.email/ on Linode for years, and it’s been very reliable.I haven’t had any issues with deliverability, and downtime has been insignificant (reboots to apply updates, nothing that interrupts mail delivery). It requires a little admin, and you have to follow the directions to set it up right, but the docs are good.

Some days I wonder if we really need any new computer technology. After all, is there anything Unix *cant* do (if you’re willing to learn all of it)?

@deshipu it’s funny because as a programmer is seems silly (because it’s just email), but as someone whose tried to convince people to use email, it’s a clever psychological hack :)

@kelbot @deshipu interesting, how are the keys generated/exchanged?

@kensanata @kelbot @deshipu @testie Cool.I’m going to have to study the encryption mechanism most closely than I can right now. I like the idea, but if I’m not generating my own key, or the keys are held by someone other than the person generating them, the value of encryption is dubious.

I'm getting seriously overwhelmed by my project backlog.I'm not sure if I should just drop everything and start with a clean slate, or try to reorganize or what, but right now I'm just thrashing between things in wait states and not really getting anywhere...

@kragen I had a fairly regular meditation routine a long time ago; maybe it’s time to get back to that?

Anyone running #forth on the ESP32?I came across this thread and with an #odroidgo on the way, it got me thinking...https://github.com/ForthHub/discussion/issues/39(thanks @kelbot & @ajroach42 for turning me on to the hardware)

One lazy/clever route might be to implement a #forth that compiles under the #arduino IDE (whatever you call that c-like language it uses). The Arduino IDE can target the #odroidgo directly, and you could avoid trying to figure out the ESP32's various hardware by leaning on the existing Arduino support.(assuming that it's possible to implement a Forth in that environment, of which I have no idea...)

Reading Lanier’s book (“10 Arguments...”) had the less-obvious effect of making me think hard about the free-as-in-beer aspect of (most) #FOSS.The claim he makes that this was a mistake, or more specifically that the way they “solved for free” (advertising) paved the way for exploitation of users, warrants considerable thought.Until we smash capitalism, people who make free-as-in-speech things need money to survive,;using ads for this was a mistake. What to do next...🤔

@kelbot yeah I have a couple solar-oriented projects that got hung-up on the solar part, so I’ve been looking for something off-the-shelf like this. It’s a bit more than I need, but it’s well made and I’ve been a fan of their other gear so I thought it was worth a shot.

@kelbot thanks for looking, I didn’t do a good job of making the cut-over from the other site, but I really wanted to get away from Wordpress.
