@grammargirl Wend.Every 3 year old knows that the past tense of “go” is “goed,” but then we have to deliver the bad news that we, as (im)proper English speakers, use the past tense of “wend” instead.

@grammargirl The way I heard it explained was that if a glassblower was trying to make a decorative/art piece, and they messed it up, instead of just wasting the effort, they could always make a fiasco (flask).

@grammargirl I was once in a meeting that was completely derailed by someone using irregardless, followed by several people flipping out about it.I was also once in a meeting that ought to have been derailed by someone using “ask” as a noun and “action” as a verb (e.g. “so the ask here is that we action this asap.”), but nobody batted an eye.
