I uploaded earlier a version I created in kdenlive, but I continue to have problems with it. The quality is very low, and I have a lot of trouble getting an acceptable render out of it.I like the kdenlive workflow... except for quite some time, I've been having trouble getting acceptable renders out of it.This is my second video which I've done in Blender. I'm not happy with the workflow in it, but it's certainly something I can find ways to make work better. I may get better with Blender for a video editor, and honestly... If I am doing video editing in it, I'm likely to play more with doing the 3D modelling and animation in it as well.

@chriswere Thanks. I'm not sure what you're using for video editing. I was really happy with Kdenlive when it was working well, but there seems to be issues with the 20 series where it doesn't encode well, or it doesn't offer options. I know that my system is weird. Like, as in, "just because I'm experiencing this, it doesn't mean that anyone else is".

I was checking my mail earlier today, and I went to my GMail account and was going... "this is a bit slow, I wonder if my network is slow". I then went to check the mail which I self host, and I was... no it's that GMail is slow.Of course, when I compare ShareTube to YouTube in terms of whether it "works well" the thing is quite a lot the opposite direction. I'm not sure why ShareTube can often perform rather poorly. But right now as I'm writing this, it's working perfectly fine. A *lot* of the arguments I see in favour of YouTube over PeerTube are either pretty subtle, but valid, or largely invalid from my experience. The federating issue is a possible problem, but my experience is that quite often with little effort, you can get your server federated well (followed by other instances). And following *most* instances works. The one thing I want to see (but haven't been able to figure out how to put it) is how federation ends up breaking...

Putting stuff on a kindle works well with Calibre. At least the version in this house. Currently reading *Frankenstein* on it.

In terms of Beat Time... I have to agree with Chris. It's a fun thing, it's created as a marketting ploy. It sounds good, but there's *nothing* about it that *fixes* any of the shitty things about time. In fact, it creates *new* problems. Timezones *make sense*. Or don't... Like mostly it makes sense to have a reasonable local time. If you stick to strictly local time, when you drive 100km your clocks are not the same. This is why we have "timezones" where for the most part, times are in blocks all the same over an hour (there are smaller intervals, I think there are as small as a quarter hour). Having *some* way to refer to other places times, is good. And having your time close to "local time" makes sense. So our current timezone system actually is a good compromise. Converting between timezones isn't terribly difficult. I mean, you *can* fairly simply do it...The *big* problem is so many places have weird stuff which is changing between "just about local time" to "well off local time" and back... That's a big thing with keeping track of timezones, is that the difference changes at different times.

I think that Chris is largely correct, a "surprising number" of regular users look to get rid of annoying ads, and tracking. At least from my communication with people in the general community. But my sample is biased, as I've made no attempt to randomize it, and it could be confirmation bias. But I do believe that the numbers are much higher than it would be expected...
