I'd look closer at the live streaming thing, where you are criticizing their intentions there. This is to bring this option as something as a start of the feature. This is not, "we will not develop these features..." It's "we don't feel we can do this within this time period..." In fact, they indicate that they *intend* to make it something in the future. But... I guess, it's good to criticize something like this, without really looking into it. This is why I donated $100 to them, because really, this works beautifully. Also... If I want to point out, you're indicating it wouldn't be at all working at all. What they're saying is *they* won't develop these features you are complaining won't really work at all. Create a page yourself which has your stream embeded, and chat with whatever chat tool you want.

@chriswere@share.tube So it's fine you to criticize PeerTube and misrepresent what they are presenting by simply looking on quick splash summary, without looking at the details, and that's not at all rude at all.But my responding to point this out is rude, and there is no need to do it?You're quite right. There's no real reason for me to be rude, when you're being rude towards the service you are using, and stating you will not contribute to because you don't like something down the road. It's not "good enough" for you. The plugins *could* give chat features. But it wouldn't be developed in this cycle.Pointing this out was apparently "rude".But, you misrepresenting negatively isn't?

Authy has deprecated the browser extension which is only available for Chrome, and the only Linux version is a Snap app. I do think removing the Snap store is certainly a good idea. It *likely* will affect some people. Currently I see a lot of "available for Linux" which usually means "available for Ubuntu". Though .deb files are often able to be installed on most distributions.

@chriswere@share.tube When you say, "you can do x without implying" you really are actually meaning "you can do x without my interpreting". I stated that you didn't do minimal research. And then implied that you felt that this was OK with you.I could be well wrong that it's OK with you for you to not do minimal research. But you either failed to do minimal research (it's right there in front of you the button that takes you to the "we explain a bit more about our reasoning here". I see *nothing* implying malice. I do see statements making it clear you *did* misrepresent what is there, simply by reading something you didn't like, and couldn't really support. But failing to take the time to actually go look at to the "why" which is explained just 1 (maybe 2) clicks away from the page you are looking at.If you see malice, maybe that's because you are projecting your malice on me? I didn't call you rude. I didn't even suggest that you were *being* rude, until you felt that it was important to call *me* rude, and fail to do anything beyond that.Mind you, there's a lot of things I'd *like* to point out, which aren't directly relevant here. But I will point out that your videos make it clear you are far more of a YouTube and Twitch type person, and quite honestly I'm not sure why you want to produce PeerTube only content? Though, I *have* seen a number of people on PeerTube, Mastodon, etcetera, expecting that they can find the same communities with them somehow being miraculously totally different. They either find the same communities, which are working much the same way... Or they find that the communities don't really support them in the same way that they do on the other platforms. Occasionally these criticisms I see are just quietly made, and those often are people who are making personal, "it just didn't work for me." type comments. In your video you mention New Tube, and LBRY. From what I can tell from these platforms is that they are very much Freeze Peach type spaces. Not necessarily that they have the creators *intending* to create a space where hate speech, dangerous misinformation, etcetera exists. But rather that they (I hope) don't understand that providing a free speech space, this is the kinds of content which gets promoted.I was in a Mastodon room where the owner made it clear that it's fine to express disgust about the activities in the room, when that is a *large* part of the purpose of the room, as long as it's not really "disruptive." But if someone dares to call out that it is not really appropriate... Then that becomes "disruptive."This is how communities end up getting taken over by voices which aren't representative of them. Too often people just don't really understand, that "just make everyone happy" often means that this allows those making people *unhappy* to dominate.

@LPS@fosstodon.org Many streamers are already doing stuff like that even in spaces like Twitch and YouTube where the chat is on the side of the video player.
