@Anoobispepega @Agni @Kro @igeljaeger @rawrrawrfox in fact, people did try to prove the book wrong, but all they could produce was “I am sure that CIA did that, I have nothing to back it up but… trust me on this”

@Anoobispepega @rawrrawrfox @Agni @igeljaeger @Kro work camps in the snow with naked people and no food were never a good thing to begin with + the particularity here is that gulags and work camps are distinct things (only in practice, in theory the are the same thing) this is the whole pointIt would be like saying, as far as I know Guantanamo is a prison and prisons are a good thing.

@rawrrawrfox @Agni @Anoobispepega @Kro @igeljaeger without proper sources to back it up I would doubt this (at least I would not make it a generality)

@rawrrawrfox @Agni @Anoobispepega @Kro @igeljaeger as terrible as it is it is not related to the functioning of gulags. Even if similar cases did happen in various places.

@Anoobispepega @igeljaeger @Agni @Kro @rawrrawrfox you seem to hold a lot of resentment against Americans

@Shamar @xj9 I re read your article two time just to be sure and.. nothing wrong with it.Sorry, my reaction is inexcusable. To be fair it was around 23 when I posted that but still, I should have took the time to read the article from top to bottom and properly analyze what it was about. It’s possible I was not in the right mindset, at first, I thought that it was written by a non programmer, I don’t know why. A non programmer trying to “teach” programmers how to think about their projects. Nonetheless I shouldn’t have reacted like I did. After a re read, this morning, it is clear that the goal of your article was instead, as someone (you) who works in the field, to explore a new perspective of how the act of programming actually translates in the real world. And in fact you did great on that matter.Again, I’d like to apologize. First of all for the harshness of my reaction and for not having took the time to read and understand your article. I’d like to apologize as someone who also write (much less ambitious) articles. It is obvious that I wouldn’t want people to criticize my work the way I criticized yours.I would be relieved if you were to accept my sincere apologies.Have a nice day.PS: your website is pretty cool.

@Anoobispepega I think BitTorrent is one the coolest software ever made. So I praise peer to peer more than I criticize it.Now I have an issue with ZeroNet and its alternatives. I find them way too bloated for their purpose (although ZeroNet itself seems fairly lightweight). And they often try to address inexistant problems. You want a permanent website? Use IPFS. Wait, now you can’t update it. Better off using a normal http server. At least you’ll have visitors, and you can still archive.org stuff. You want to stay anonymous? Those projects generally don’t give a fuck about security. See what happened to Tox.Concerning ZeroNet:>It’s no more anonymous than BitTorrent, but privacy (the possibility to find out who is the owner of the comment/site) will increase as the network and the sites gains more peers. You want to chat anonymously ? IRC + Tor.You want to share big files? Then just plain old BitTorrent. At least it’s fast.Don’t get me wrong those projects are interesting and have their use cases (ie. releasing software on ipfs or . They just aren’t cut to replace the www like most of them claim they will.I’d be interested to hear your views on this.
