Obama court decided that NSA conducted illegal wiretapping, but before 2012 when the 9th circuit undid that, and stopped investigation into mass surveillance.That decision, and the lack of reaction from the Obama administration to curtail mass surveillance lead to Edward Snowden starting his leaks.

2007.5+/-2.5 ~@520:33:00 not possible in 2007, but suggestion that speech analysis might be able to determine cognitive structure in the future. You could barely do speech recognition in 2007 (hell, I was trying back then to write software to do it). But as google/FVEY has more and more speech data...you might be able to detect more and more subtle unconscious 'tells'. about our emotional state / neural structure. Especially given access to stuff like fitbit data to cross-reference.
