       Plenty of reasons to dislike TikTok as a platform. However, keep in mind Meta is fighting for their lives against TikTok.Meta paid for manufacturing stories about TikTok in the press which is leading to an outright ban from the USA market. This firm weaponized sinophobia. And that has spilled over with racist attacks being done to people worldwide. All because Zuckerberg & co.’s pockets were hurting just a little bit. Don’t be surprised when they come for the fediverse as a whole.        @taylorlorenz even scarier than that is the reason why these companies have access to planting content in the news this way. We make our own opinions about these breadcrumbs being delivered to us. So here is the question we should be asking ourselves all the time: are our thoughts really ours? Am I a victim of corporate interests planting ideas in my head? How can I learn to challenge and confirm these alleged facts I’m receiving?
