       Two months on #Gnome are over.  Very positive experience. I can see why it is the standard interface for so many FOSS desktops. Incredibly consistent interface. With a few extensions, it's almost perfect. My only complaint is Nautilus insisting that type means search, and the save dialog is terrible. By the time #trixie is out, these issues should be fixed.Now back to #sway and #kde / #qt apps. #bookworm

       @davidrevoy This is a great blog post. Debian stable is a nice base platform for years. Backports and flatpaks keep the user facing apps up to date. Enjoy your setup.

       In case you missed it, Window Maker Live was updated last week and is based on Debian bookworm. It integrates with the GNUStep desktop environment. Here it is running on my almost 20 year old ThinkPad T43p (released April 2005) this afternoon. There is an amd64 and an i686 version available.
