Morning Mastodonians!We finally got to Serious Sam 4 last night! We are huge Serious Sam fans, which isn't surprising considering just how great a co-op game it is. I like that it has a special "Motion Sickness" options group. I hate head bobbing! Unfortunately, the Steam and GoG versions don't play together, so B had to buy another copy. We're still working on the difficulty options, as we didn't even finish the first level. Maybe a few more than 3 respawns? @videogames #videogames #fps

Unfortunately, @adrienne was too busy with her Rover work for us to get back to #Seafall. C, M, and I have been playing the always delightful Castles of Burgundy on BGA - it's easily the best online implementation. I've been getting my head handed to me, so I need to get better! We might try it again. I suggested they take a look at Clans of Caledonia, which I've played online but only solo. #boardgames @boardgames

Not sure we'll even get in #walkies #today. It's supposed to be cold and drizzly but luckily no snow here, but it is getting closer and closer. I should ice my knee. All this walking seems to have aggravated my left knee. At my age, it is always something - sigh. And I said I would fill in at goal Sat morning, so that means back-to-back hockey days. Oh oh. Better start on the ibuprofen now.

I did start some coding on my app finally in my own personal #SaltMine. The #MAUI environment isn't great for designing a UI, despite it being right in the name. I guess #Microsoft used to have a XAML visual editor but dropped it in favor of hot reloading - not quite the same. I still say the Borland #C++Builder IDE was the best app dev IDE ever. Change my mind.

Morning Mastodonians!Oh boy, what a long day #Today is going to be. Before I get to my whining, let me wish all my USA masto-friends a Happy #Thanksgiving! It truly is one of my favorite meals of the year. But we host about 15, so that makes it a hectic couple days and, to be honest, I'm glad when it is over. Attendance is down this year due to COVID, which sucks. But my wife and family love it, so I'll do my share to help out.

The weirdest thing that will happen today will be remembering to pack my hockey bag for tomorrow morning. It's always a bit jarring to be sitting there in a triptophan coma and realizing it's time to get ready for hockey tomorrow morning. Yikes! But it actually is usually a pretty good turnout and more guys than usual make it to the post hockey breakfast, which is always nice.

Nothing else really planned for the long weekend. Of course, my new job doesn't started for another couple weeks, so every weekend is a long one! It would be nice to head into the big city to pregrame Christmas. Some things are already chugging along there, although I don't think the Nova Scotia tree is up yet. Should be a cold but sunny weekend, so a good day for walking the city.

Like I said, looking forward to a new #SaltMine to head into on Dec. 4. Not sure if I will need to go into the office. I imagine onboarding will be entirely online although the drive to the office would be relatively easy; a reverse commute of about 15 minutes. I will also be getting started on my security clearance, as many of the projects there require it. I don't think I have any skeletons in my closet, but one man's suit can be another man's skeleton I guess!

@futurebird I want to bring back something from Australia's "megafauna" era, like the Diprotodon (rhino-sized marsupial) or the Procoptodon (10' tall kangaroo) or even the giant koala.
