Seriously, websites that do two-factor authentication only via text message. It's just not okay.

Arrrrgh! Just got bitten again by the horrible UX of the Windows Update prompt to restart to install updates which treats the escape key as "Restart now". In what universe is that a reasonable UX? Worse, my system will no doubt fail the update and roll it back once again.

It is deeply exasperating to me that Apple continue to increasingly fuck accessibility of Apple Books, especially with braille. I'm currently reading a book to my son in the evenings. Here are just two of the bugs I have to deal with while trying to enjoy this with him, breaking the flow of my reading:1. When the page turns, often the cursor will jump to the bottom of the screen, so I have to jump to the top and down four elements to continue reading.2. Sometimes, the cursor randomly jumps to the start of the paragraph while I'm reading and continues to do this randomly every 30 seconds or so."Why not use an alternative app?" you might ask. I would, but DRM means that i can't. And these fucking big profit-above-people companies wonder why people resort to piracy. Because apparently, when you pay for something, you actually get a shittier experience.

So I've been wondering why my solar inverter stopped being reachable via the network a while back. Reset it today. Nothing. Err... turns out I accidentally had a second DHCP server enabled on the network, introduced when I set up a new wireless access point a few weeks ago. It's not like I have decades of networking experience and am supposed to know what I'm doing. 😳

Oh. I've just realised why the accessibility of the Aira web app is so screwy. For example, you can't press enter on many of the buttons with NVDA browse mode; you have to route the mouse to them and click like it's 1987.It uses Flutter.Really? Seriously?

Of all the questionable things about AI, I'm starting to think its biggest crime is simply the staggering amount of resources it has pointlessly drawn away from other, more important work and the way it has corrupted even organisations that were previously doing great work in some misguided, race-to-the-bottom belief that this is actually the most important thing for humankind.
