@Ignace Very cool! Andrew Leventis creates intricately detailed oil paintings of contemporary vanitas. Vanitas is a genre of art which uses symbolism to show the transience of life, the futility of pleasure, and the certainty of death. The paintings involved still life imagery of transitory items. The genre began in the 16th century and continued into the 17th century. Vanitas art is a type of allegorical art representing a higher ideal.https://andrewleventispainting.com

@codemonkeymike How big is your library?I've been using Kodi on Raspberry Pis for almost 12 years! I cut the cord in 2012. No Plex, no Emby, no Jellyfin - just plain simple Kodi.I have a really large library (20TB) that requires a NAS (Unraid) from which all my Kodi boxes pull content.I have started replacing my Raspberry Pis with Mini PCs - specifically this:https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BVLS7ZHP1/2 #kodi #unraid #xbmc

@codemonkeymike For about the same cost of RPi alternatives I get better performance and ALOT more local storage. Which if your library is small may be enough for you. These Mini PCs come with 500GB of storage as an M.2 but, have a slot for a regular SATA HDD. You could easily put 4TBs into these things for less than $400.My wife watches content on all the TVs using the Kodi remote on her cell phone. She knows nothing about computers or tech. It's that simple.

@HeavenlyPossum This is what has always angered me the most with the police response to student protests. Universities are designed, built, and marketed as "homes" to students. And they are, for the most part, their first home away from home. Students live there, have possessions there, develop behaviors and ideas that differ from their childhood home there. This is THEIR home and the police are intruders.

@ruin The weird thing is even if you do know how to make electricity, you still have to know how to make a magnet and copper wire. And that's only if you managed to bring a light bulb with you. Otherwise, how do you make a light bulb?

@aral I'm reading-up in Kitten on your site. How is Kitten different than running an Nginx container in Docker or LXC?I am genuinely interested. I have been building a site that uses JSON files to store CRUD data instead of a database. If someone is going down the same road I'd join them.

Going to jump on the AI-bashing bandwagon here. "Alien" (1979) - a movie where nearly everyone dies because they ignored a woman and stopped a black man because of AI.#AI #Alien #SciFi
