@laggard Those OpenBSD things I have solved by not caring :D I play games on Windows (had to anyways for most of them), audio hasn't been a problem for me, and performance is acceptable. Battery efficiency too, for my needs.Also yeah, FreeBSD is kinda confusing :/I wonder if DragonflyBSD is in a daily-driveable state?

@captainepoch My recommended way to do that is to just take your website's normal content and hand-write it in Gemini syntax. Because you can't have links inside paragraphs in Gemini, doing some kind of automated translation from HTML->Gemini makes the Gemini experience worse.This is what I do, I will write HTML first and then copy it to gemini and edit the gemini file to be fully gemini-native syntax.Also, if you're wondering about Gemini formatting it's just:# Big Header## Medium Header### Small Header=> https://link.url Link Text* This* is a* bullet list```This is a pre-formatted block (e.g. for code)```And any text on its own line is considered a paragraph, though it's important that each paragraph is one line (i.e. don't break the line at 72 characters or something like you might do in an email).

I'm not sure exactly what led to me feeling very unhappy with being on this account.I think it was a combination of a buildup of bad interactions with people, the activity I was generally seeing on my timeline, how I felt when posting, and also a general feeling of just spending way too much time on here.The number of people following me has grown to ~580... that's a lot of very diverse opinions and people with different interests. At times, it felt like I was censoring myself and needing to be careful posting certain things because I wanted to specifically avoid certain interactions. I'm not just talking about politics, this applies to any of my opinons (some of which can be quite strong) and even things like sadposting and loveposting. A public fedi account just isn't the place to be having those kinds of discussions, so I created my "Secret Avocatto" account just for close friends. While I could keep using that, the awkward username ( @kAmNNVPka9 ) is, well, awkward. Even if it was good at keeping it a secret (captainepoch will know :meowGiggle:).My timeline is something that could have been fixed, but what I really wanted was a return to the way I used to use fedi to discuss tech and hobby topics for my main account which would have needed me completely changing my profile (to the way it now appears on bsd.network). My goal was to separate the techposting from the cuteposting, since I became increasingly uncomfortable with mixing the two. I wouldn't go to a tech conference and say "nya", and I wouldn't want to fill my cuteposting followers TLs with tech rants. Since I was going to make such a drastic overhaul, I felt much better about making a new account and joining an instance with a bunch of other cool people who are interested in the same things than just overhauling this account.Then there is also the fact that I was spending too much time on here. With not much else to do during the pandemic, it was easy to sit in front of the computer all day with fedi open getting those hits of dopamine from interacting with people. It turned into me not doing anything productive, and spending all of my energy being social on fedi. I felt so drained I just couldn't bring myself to work on the projects or do the things I told myself I would finally do when I got done with uni.I think this arrangement will be healthier for me in the long run. I will have a place for posting my new blog posts, talk about projects and hobbies and things, and then I will have a place where I can just post to all of my fedifriends and not have to worry if I'm going to get some annoying troll in my mentions.
