I am a bit late on this one...But I believe it's still extremely important to share because it highlights the power of what Hans Hermann Hoppe calls "Defensive Democracy." While I believe voting on a federal level is largely futile because it's nothing more than a rigged dog and pony show, there is still utility in voting on a local level. The morality of democracy is a different discussion and I don't want to suggest it is a moral act, but we are beyond a point where we can sit idle or simply try to educate individuals and hope for the best. The past 3 years of COVID protocols and mandates has taught us that authoritarians, globalists and petty tyrants from both sides of the political aisle will use the institution of government to implement their preferences and values. For decades us freedom loving folks steered clear of the political process, largely to our own demise. The left saw this weakness and exploited it which is why we saw so many heavy handed COVID policies, but we can change that. It's not easy, but organizations like the Mises Caucus are leading the "decentralized revolution" to put Libertarians and freedom minded individuals in positions of power in their local governments.Again, the might makes right, majority vs minority debate is highly relevant in this equation, however, if we don't begin to make a stand for freedom, like these brave people in Green Charter, Michigan recently did, any last semblance of freedom will possibly no longer exist for us or our children. It's not for everyone, but I highly encourage those who have the stomach for it to get involved in their local politics. Not sure where to start?
