@killyourfm Twitter-detox feels *so* good. Have been there only once during the last two weeks. Several times a day before. Not missing it much. It can crash and burn.

@killyourfm You’re simply too popular ;-) But yeah, that all makes sense. I really enjoy the experience of hanging out in this new neighborhood and seeing all the people from that other place and organically reconnecting.

@stux In other breaking news: Grass is green! What I’m having a hard time coming to terms with: Why are people even using TikTok? I guess for the same reason Germany made itself dependent on Russian gas: Too many people are too blind to see the obvious.

@stux When fascists like Elon Musk say “free speech” it’s never about free speech - it’s newspeak for hatespeech and fascist propaganda. When these people say “freedom” it isn’t about freedom at all - it’s newspeak for violating other people’s rights without being held accountable. A modern, open society cannot tolerate these abuses of language without devolving back into the dark ages, so I’m glad these abusers are kept out of Mastodon.

@eniko @wiredfire @esdin My experience is quite different: Almost always I find people I look for from other neighborhoods within seconds. Sometimes I do need to type the full name, like an email address. I’ve had one single case where I couldn’t find a person from a neighborhood that I usually find people from. Not sure, maybe that account was too new?

@eniko @wiredfire @esdin I wonder if that’s maybe an issue in your neighborhood? When I returned to here, mastodon.social timed out all the time even with basic things like just starting the app or logging in. Now it’s all smooth. Or it’s the neighborhoods of the people you try to connect with? Maybe they are too remote ;-)
