Casual hello. It's me, Murphy. Act naturally. Murphy wandered into the middle of my magpie feeding experiment(I wanted to see which nuts they liked the best). Murphy usually isn't out after sun rise at his age, so he doesn't see the magpies much, but knows never to bother them. #cat #cats #Caturday #CatsOfMastodon #catstodon #MastoCats #CatsOfFediverse #PetsOfMastodon #SiameseCat

Somebody really should have told me about pears long ago. Canned pears are the exact level of acceptable squishy for canned fruit PLUS they border on tasting like nothing. Fits perfectly into what I look for in a fruit

@futurebird @catsalad I will have to ask the Spooky Kitties Feral's in spring. While I suspect any primary horde they might have is in someone else's yard, I do have a nice centralized storage box ready for a winter kitties dragon horde. I do also support a rather large population of hoarding magpies and VERY innocent raccoons, so we shall see.

@futurebird @catsalad indeed. They are most of the reason I have a strict rule for myself that I must have explicit permission from someone else to feed non-cats. Especially the 7 in my neighborhood. 5 of them were born in my backyard this summer. Watched them grow up. Watched them sneak out of their hiding spot while their mommy was away during the day. Played with the laser pointer with them. Stared into those wonderful, banditry innocent eyes.

@futurebird @catsalad well, my neighborhood raccoons certainly have NEVER tried to steal the feral's cat bowls the first day I got them, and certainly never tried to break into my window.

@futurebird wondered that myself after having lived with several Small Very Tall cats like Dazzle, and the most missed orange Mango, both of whom liked to knock every toy under the stove

@futurebird that is why I have convinced Murphy Danger Paws to face towards the stairs in his cat tree. Had my share of nose boops from him.

@futurebird the Most Dangerous Lady the Cat Penguin very generously stopped giving me claw face boops 12 years ago. Can still see where she got me when I dared to wake up while she was sleeping on my head

I put an empty jar of the magpies peanuts out to see how long it would take for one of the raccoons to take it. 40 minutes. #SpookyKittiesRaccoons #WildLife #Wildlifephotography #Raccoon #Raccoons

@futurebird the picture second from the top left is the first time I saw him. I thought he was my Dorian, a very similar looking cat who rarely looks into the door like that. Had my camera out to capture the oddity when I saw those huge eyes. Thankfully, they look way less sad these days.
