The invaded may be bad guys: They may be Nazis or religious fanatics. If you invade them, it becomes a case of bad guys fighting bad guys. However, if they're just regular guys, like Vietnamese, Libyans, socialists defending their homes, then it's case of good vs. evil. The Bad Guys have sometimes been the Russians but most of the time the Bad Guys are US.
