@joel yep! It's easy to "FediBlock" now when nobody you know/like is sewing. But what about when they are? Are you now supposed to bully your instance into federating? Move to one that does federate with it?It's just needless infighting and creating vitriol between harmless people.

@joel aww, thanks! I realized I have more followers than following, and that I end up talking about similar things in many places, so a blog helps consolidate bigger longer topics.It's also a place to throw random Language Dev ideas that don't end up being followed up on.Hopefully more soon, Jekyll looks like it meets my needs so I'm learning it!

To be honest just disabling mastodon notifications has been very nice. I'm thinking about disabling notifications for more apps.Why is my phone prompting me for attention (if it's not actually urgent) when I should only be giving it if I actually intend to be using it.

Mastodon is overall okay, and friendly, but it doesn't fix the constant social annoyances you run into on a day to day.Purposefully misquoting to argue, "um actually", explaining something to you that you are already explaining in better/more full detail but they don't understand that.
