@michal nie som klimatológ, takže odpovedať neviem, ale okomentujem niečo iné.1.) Poznáš ten výrok, že "Keď niekto tvrdí, že vonku prší, a druhý, že je jasno, tak úlohou novinára nie je napísať obidve tvrdenia, ale pozrieť sa z okna a zistiť, aké je počasie"? Tak pre akéhokoľvek mikroblogera alebo iného účastníka verejnej diskusie platí to isté. Najprv zisti či máš dôvod na pochybnosti, až potom napíš, že máš pochybnosti. Neprispievaj k informačnému chaosu a všeobecnej nedôvere v čokoľvek.

@michal ako na to? V tomto prípade stačilo spýtať sa neutrálne, či niekto nevie ako sú rozmiestnené meteostanice a ako prípadnú nerovnomernosť riešia klimatológovia, a až ak by k tomu odpoveď dala dôvod, vyjadriť svoje pochybnosti.2.) Naozaj si myslíš, že v odvetví vedy ktorému sa po celom svete venujú asi tisíce vedcov, nikoho nenapadlo vziať tento očividný fakt do úvahy?

@futurebird Regarding aphids: I just found an aphid infestation in my garden (central Europe), tended to by ants, and I was wondering: I assume ants are territorial and not all species farm aphids...wouldn't it be possible to control aphids by introducing competing ant species that would push out the aphid farming colony?I haven't seen this aphid control method mentioned anywhere, and you came to mind as the ant expert who might know :)

@futurebird Option C. It's like A, but whatever you say doesn't matter, because you don't have any reall power.This is the situation of the prodemocratic fraction of Slovakia. We can't persuade the currently larger combination of the antidemocratic/fascist/misinformed majority, and the current ruling kleptocracy know that we don't have any real way to stop them.But they are cementing their power and there is a mounting pressure on the media to establish censorship. So maybe we will get to A.

@futurebird Neither. Single person is mostly powerless, even a billionaire (if they want to keep being a billionaire).This is comforting, it absolves us of some guilt.What he should do is to embed himself in a coordinated group, the larger the better, that want's to save the planet.That's a different game.Also it gives you a lot of freedom, such groups need many skills and professions :)

@futurebird Definitely none of those.I would say it needs to have a user manual, be deterministic and have no hands.User manual to show that someone knows what it does in enough detail to check validity of its computations or to change what it does.(Partial) determinism is also necessary for the same reasons.And no hands condition is there to keep up the mind-body separation, so that it's easier for us to reason about it. Machine with a computer in it isn't itself a computer.
