AOC is flat-out wrong! You cannot just willy-nilly ignore any judicial decision you don’t like or agree with. If everyone did it, where would the rule of law be, and what’s the point of even having the judiciary in the first place? We must abide to every legal ruling, even if it is patently wrong or unjust. The only recourse is to get a higher court to overturn it, or to get the legislature to change it. #AOC #mifepristone #abortion

@emmah That’s a similar viewpoint of the far-right when it comes to “liberal” decisions they don’t like either, like gay marriage or the convictions of Trump’s associates. Except they think the system is communist.

@emmah @zens @SallyStrange Just because they don’t follow the rules, doesn’t mean we shouldn’t. We should set an example, and change the system from within. Change doesn’t happen over night, it takes time. Look at same-sex marriage, since Baker, it took more than 40 years of hard work before the Supreme Court finally recognised the right of all to get married.

@emmah @zens @SallyStrange That’s your choice, we live in a free democracy, you can do whatever you like. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I’m not forcing you to conform to my views. You don’t have to be here if you don’t like what I said.

@emmah @zens @SallyStrange Being polite is a reflection of oneself. Just because they are doing it, doesn’t mean we have to join them and be equally nasty, why swoop to their level? You don’t have to resort to using bad language to get your point across. Rudeness is one of the things I despise about the far-right, the other is atrocious grammar and orthography. I believe in both karma and the golden rule, you treat others how you want them to treat you.

@anoreon @emmah @zens @SallyStrange That is your prerogative. Just because someone wants to murder you doesn’t mean you have to use bad language. I’m not them, so why are you directing them at me? You can defend yourself without resorting to vulgarities. How would using vulgarities help you in anyway? Do you think by using vulgarities that you can do a better job in stopping them from persecuting you? I believe we can change people’s mindsets, for example 20 years ago, most people were against gay marriage, but look at it now, a huge majority is now in favor! If you keep maintaining that hawkish stance against them, how do you expect things to change? You can attract more bees with honey. If you want others to be tolerant of you, you have to be tolerant of others too, it’s a two-way street.

No single event has influenced the history of labor in the United States and even the world more than the Chicago Haymarket Affair. It is generally considered significant as the origin of International Workers' Day which is today. Although the rally is included in American history textbooks, very few present the event accurately or point out its significance. Yet the US is only one of a handful of countries not to celebrate Labor Day on the 1st May! #laborday #labourday #workersday
