@lardmotel Lots of ”perhaps” in that article. Also very likely the false analogy fallacy – just because the universe has some similarities to how a computer simulation works doesn’t mean it is analogous. Plus: If this is not base reality, how would we know how computers and simulations work in base reality? Probably not like the computers within the simulation. So reasoning errors abound here. Show me the smoking gun or I’m not buying.

@lardmotel @rasur Michel Foucault – whose writing may be the most accessible of all these French guys and gals – famously referred to Derrida’s writing as a ”terrorism of obscurantism”. Baudrillard lies somewhere between F. and D. It seems every intellectual of that generation in France pretty much had to write like that to some degree, so a cultural thing. (Explanation rather than excuse.) Tip: Read a few pages of Levinas, then B. will seem crystal clear by comparison!
