Kind of cool: the not very good Alien-universe novel I read during travel recovery because it required very little brain ended with the last 5% of the book being a small module for the Alien Roleplaying Game where a set of four premade PCs play out one of the background inciting events of part of the novel. Admittedly I also kind of like that 'obfuscate where the end of the novel actually is so you can be surprised' thing when it's done well.

My Canadian daughtercritter is telling me about Ready Player Two and, well. It's nice that he's trying to expand his horizons, I guess. But still a little embarrassing to hear about. It's okay to be a Cline, but it shouldn't really be aspirational.
