@rysiek Czech Republic would be so cool, as travel is cheaper. However its worth remembering that technically helping in abortion is a crime in Poland. So if you but somebody tickets to Czech Republic you better have some plausible deniability.Risk is not that great though as a group of women helped to organise tens of thousands of abortions, bragged about it in the press, and nothing happened.

I liked the dialogue of Binhoff and Sjenit about: The fact that the way our society survives doesn't mean that its the only way society could survive, and doesn't mean its the best one. // quote is from memory so may be slightly off. (I also seem to find political messages in everything I read)#SFFBookClub

@naga In Poland in High School I learned that: 1) Polish Constitution was first in Europe and second in the world; 2) It gave broad rights to most of the society classes; After I read it up as an adult it turned out that: 1) It was passed into law illegally; 2) It gave no right to peasants (largest class); 3) It sparked a rebellion that was a first step to Poland being dissolved until end of I world war; So bragging about history is something I'm inoculated against ;)

Covid shit is getting more and more real. Supposedly Poland is getting better as new cases drop, but so drops number of tests performed, and percentage of positive results is climbing while being absurdly high (>50%).Also more people i know get it.I'll probably talk with my family about reducing going out to only essential (or rather redefining essential to cover less stuff).

@fluffy @Mae I'm doing a lot of excersise on Ring Fit Adventure game. You fight minsters by exercising 🙂. That said loosing weight by exercising alone is hard (you can easily get reverse results when you also get muscle mass).

@fluffy @Mae It's an RPG game that (among others) make you fight monsters by doing physical exercise. Here is random review that I have just read and I agree with for the most part: https://nordic.ign.com/nintendo-switch-new-experience-nintendo-switch/30314/review/ring-fit-adventure-review .

@adam @deshipu it is worse. When downloading you execute **known** code. When doing curl | sh you execute whatever server chooses to send you, without a way to check or verify. It's trivial to set up your server so accessing the script from browser gives different results than doing curl | sh.

@cybernomad @qorg11 I'm a C++ programmer and I know that C++ sucks. There are non sucky subsets of C++ though. Or at least there are bearable C++ subsets. Also every other language I know suck so, that's life. You choose least broken tool for the job.

I'm trying to do something in Javascript. And modern javascript is a mess. There are multiple implementation of modules, incompatible with one another, and random libraries assume random implementation of modules. I have an app that works locally in browser, but when I try to test each module of this app separately using jest/jasmine/mocha they randomly fail each one with it's own beautifully complex error message.

Maybe my requirements are not reasonable (but OTOH every other language satisfies them). I want compile-time support from IDE, so I use typescript, I want to load some json files and some yaml fiels (but at this point I don't want to put these files in the Internet, so it all needs to be loaded and bundled together). Why this needs to be so fuckin complex (answer: it does not but it is).

And the worst part is: 1) This is a hobby project, so when I have time to work on in next time, I will forget most of the details. 2) Instead of doing what I want, I wasted whole day on fucking with javascript (And this project will be running in browsers so I need to use JS); 3) When I finish it half of the project will be obsolete, as Javascript will be reinvented anew.

I **think** that the problem is my code is in typescript, and testing frameworks have some problems with how I use TS.So I think I'll need to prepare special compilation code that will bundle my typescript library (with dependencies) to a single commmonjs (whaever that is) file, and then run tests against this (tests can be in JS I don't care). The problem with that approach, that having "special build for testing" is an abomination, as you should test code you run in production.

@vae @oddtail AFAIK there are two ongoing fines. One .5 milion euro per day for powerplant and coal mine near the Czech border. 1 milion euro for ignoring the sentence about illegality of judicial reforms. W would assume that if this passed then this would result in another fine.

PSA: every passing grade is good enough. In real life nobody will care for your grades (unless you know that your grades will factor into some documented process - eg. a scholarship or getting to next level of education). In IT nobody cares for your grades, even in the first job Getting straight A average (or 5.0 in Poland) is like getting 100% achievement in a game. Nobody will care in a year...

Learn for the sake of learning. If a subject is not interesting don't invest more time than needed to pass.I wasted too much time memorising unnecessary stuff showed down on me by bad teachers.

@wolf480pl What about the Idea of Idea? And Idea of Idea of Idea. I vaguely remember that some philosophers had problems with idea of idea.
