@simon the opposite is far worse: not considering at all who might be harmed by your work. All technology has risks and potential for harm. It is prudent to consider those, but modern capitalism does not provide enough incentives to actually do it. So, it’s often just not done. Or we just don’t yet know how.

@spolsky giving your pull request or merge request an accurate but short description, so someone without all surrounding context can glance at it and quickly understand what it is about.

I had to delete the officialMastodon app from my iPhone because it kept hijacking Mastodon links. When I open a link to a profile or post from Ivory, I want it to open in browser, not another app.I wonder if there is a way to turn off this behavior in the official app, so it wouldn’t hijack the links?

@lauren @rmondello hi Ricky - any thoughts on the thread? Check it out, interesting discussion on passkeys threat model.I thought of it as a security-conscious user. I’ve been securing some of my accounts with hardware security keys lately. Added to Apple account, works fine. What I would like to do, is to say, “for these high-stakes accounts, periodically/always require a security key to use the passkey.” Or the account provider could enforce this.
