Does anyone use a #XMPP server for your family/friends? I really love #XMPP, which I have been using personally and at work for years (including hosting the service via the amazing #Prosody), but I have assumed by now that having my family to use #XMPP instead of #Whatsapp is just a dream.

I am positively impressed by the #XMPP client #Gajim on #Linux. The massive redesign they undertook relatively recently has certainly paid off.I would say #Gajim is the 'feature rich' version of #Dino.The only issue I have found is it crashing when I try to make a voice call.https://gajim.org

In #Perth we have a company called Parking Enforcement Services, otherwise known as the private parking mafia, that love to extort people by impersonating the Government.They work by issuing 'fines' to shopping mall customers that park their vehicle in whatever way they deem 'illegal'. They make look these 'fines' as if they were official and could, in some way, be enforced. In reality, this is a private company that have no power to do so but use fear and threats to bully naive people into paying them.Pretty pathetic, questionable business model.

Is there something happening with #Mastodon in general in terms of popularity?By looking at my server logs it is evident that there has been a change in the last few weeks, where the number of visits from #bots has increased significantly to the point where genuine visits are a minority (i.e. like it happens with the Web in general but not until recently with Mastodon).
